June Meeting

Morehead City Middle School PTO Minutes
June 1, 2010

The meeting began at 8:25am and was opened by Robin Ruffin.  In attendance were Carole Keefer, Carolyn Schultz, Tom Saunders, Trish Slape, and Dr. Sue Kreuser

Committee Reports:
    Treasurer:
        May financial report – available balance $3757.50
        2010-2011  Budget:
            $200 per team
            Continue the “Caught Being Good/Great” for student and staff
            Estimate $200/trimester for “Caught Being Good”
            Complete mini-laptop computer purchase

Officer/Committee Positions 2010-2011
    Thank you to the following volunteers:
        Karen Carter – Fall Fundraiser
        Carole Keefer – Book Fair

    NEED---Secretary and Vice president

Grounds
    2 bids for power washing and both $3000
Grounds (cont.)
    Need to establish several “work days” for volunteers to come out and power
    Wash.  Need about 2/day beginning in the front of the building.

Summer Stuff
    August 16 at 8:30am need 4-6 parents to bundle handouts for homerooms
    Aug. 2-3, “Jump Start for Rising 6th Graders,” fee based program

Principal’s Corner
    Tentative Open House  August 19 or 20
    1st Day of School August 25
    6th grade only Parent Night Sept. 2
    7th – 8th grade Parent Night Sept. 9 or 16
    August 26 at 2pm is fall fundraiser kickoff w/ students
    OK to move forward w/ PE uniforms (optional).  Students help w/ choice.
